An expanding reel helps only the lines that use it
The ordinary Wild substitutes for every symbol except the Scatter and can appear on any reel. The special expanding Wilds are the lightning emblem in Olympus and the bident emblem in Hades. They can also appear on all reels. In the base game, a special Wild expands vertically across its reel when that expansion would create a win.
The expanding Wild receives a random value from 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x. Its multiplier applies to winning combinations that contain that Wild. A paying line elsewhere on the board keeps its own calculation.
Two Wilds on the same combination
Their multipliers add together. In a hypothetical example, an underlying combination worth 20 line bets, a line stake of 1 unit and participating Wilds of 3x and 5x give 20 × 1 × (3 + 5) = 160 units.
The combined multiplier is 8x. Multiplying 3 by 5 would overstate this game's award.
Wilds on different combinations
Work out each paying line using the Wilds involved in that combination, then add the line awards. Seeing a 100x Wild somewhere on the screen does not apply 100x to every award on the spin.
The line paths decide which Wilds take part. A full expanded reel can reach several lines, but each still needs a paying combination.
This additive rule is central to reading a busy bonus screen. Count the participating multipliers for each combination before reading the total. The artwork can fill a reel; the calculation remains tied to paylines.
Ten free spins to build a board of sticky Wilds
Three temple Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 start 10 free spins. The feature uses special reels. When an expanding Wild lands during the round, it expands, receives a multiplier from the same list and remains on the screen through all the remaining free spins.
