Gates of Olympus: count the symbols, then add the multipliers

Gates of Olympus has six reels and five rows, giving 30 visible positions. Count each regular symbol across the whole grid. Eight crowns qualify even when gaps separate them or they sit on different rows. You do not need a connected cluster, a left-to-right chain or a selected payline.

The count selects one payout band: 8 to 9, 10 to 11, or 12 to 30 identical symbols. Only the highest qualifying band pays for that symbol. A count in the top band is not paid again at the two lower rates. Different winning symbol types have their awards added together.

Winning symbols then disappear. The remaining symbols fall down and new symbols fill the spaces from above. Another qualifying count pays and starts another replacement. This continues until the grid produces no further regular win. These tumbles belong to the same paid round; they do not each cost another base stake.

Hypothetical base round at €1: the first grid pays €10 for eight crowns. A later tumble pays €1.50 for eight chalices. With applicable 2x and 5x orbs, the regular total is €11.50 and the orb total is 7x:

(€10 + €1.50) × (2 + 5) = €80.50

This is a worked arrangement, not a recorded spin or a prediction. The orb sum belongs to that base round. The next paid round does not inherit it.

Three or more Zeus Scatters during the feature award five additional free spins. This retrigger uses a lower threshold than the four Scatters needed to start the feature in base play. The added spins remain part of the feature with its retained multiplier; they do not start a separately paid round. The rule awards five extra spins, without an additional per-Scatter increment for a fourth or fifth Zeus.

Pragmatic Play lists 96.50% RTP for the original Gates of Olympus. RTP describes theoretical return across long-run total stakes. It is not a 96.5% chance of winning a spin and it does not tell you how often the 500x orb or free-spins feature will appear.

Hypothetical RTP arithmetic: €10,000 of total stakes at 96.50% corresponds to €9,650 theoretical return and a €350 difference. That turnover can include money repeatedly staked; it is not a suggested deposit. A particular session can finish far above or below the theoretical figure. Use the RTP displayed for the particular game configuration when comparing games; the catalogue percentage does not establish a separate Ante or feature-purchase RTP.

The publisher describes the original as highly volatile. Older original intro artwork can display a Medium label, so do not treat a generic rating label as a measured hit rate or assume every installation has the same presentation. The game's multiplier arithmetic tells you how a qualifying win is calculated, not how often that arrangement occurs.

Read the payout count first, then watch when tumbles finish and which orbs apply. Gates of Olympus 1000 raises the individual orb ceiling to 1,000x. That is a meaningful alternative if the larger orb range is the feature you want to compare. Its own paytable, limits and configuration still belong to that edition. Gates of Olympus Super Scatter adds special Scatter-trigger awards, giving the entry to the feature another mechanic. The original's four-, five- and six-Scatter cash table does not describe those special awards.
