Using Revolut for casino payments: Pay, cards and status
Revolut Pay takes you from a compatible checkout to approval in the Revolut app. A Revolut card follows the checkout's card-payment route and may ask for 3D Secure confirmation. Recognising that difference helps you find the right approval prompt, understand a pending payment and trace money coming back.

- Revolut cardEnter the card; confirm a requested 3DS prompt in the app.
For a Revolut casino payment, the useful starting point is the payment option the checkout actually offers. A Revolut Pay button identifies the Pay flow. A card form asking for your Revolut card details identifies a card payment. A bare Revolut name in a payment list does not tell you which of those products the casino uses.
Revolut Pay: approve in the app
The UK personal Pay instructions describe online payment directly from a Revolut account without entering card or bank details. Select Revolut Pay at checkout, follow the redirect to the app and approve the payment there. This is the personal account flow at a checkout that offers it.
The merchant-facing description of Pay also covers customers paying by card without a personal Revolut account. That describes what a merchant's Pay integration can accept; it does not make merchant setup instructions the right instructions for your personal account.
Revolut card: follow the card authorisation
Entering a Revolut-issued card uses the card route. 3D Secure, or 3DS, is an extra authorisation that a merchant can request for an online card payment. Revolut's German personal card help describes a push notification asking you to confirm the payment.
If the notification does not arrive, open the Revolut mobile app while logged in. The authorisation prompt should appear there. A missing notification is a reason to inspect the app, not proof that the payment has completed or failed. This card prompt and the Pay redirect are separate approval paths.
Enough money in total can still leave a card short
A multi-currency total can look sufficient while the balance available to the selected card cannot cover the payment. Revolut's UK currency example requires one applicable currency balance to cover the amount plus fees. It does not combine small balances across currencies to complete a transaction.
In that UK example, the order is the transaction currency, then the account's GBP base currency, then the active currency with the highest balance. The payment uses the first balance with sufficient funds. This GBP ordering belongs to the UK example; it is not a PLN funding rule for a Polish account.
Check the card's assigned currency
You can also assign a currency to a card. The documented UK path is Home → select the card → Settings → Spend from, then select the intended currency or All cash accounts. A card assigned to a currency with too little money can be declined even when money sits elsewhere in the account.
Before a further attempt, look at the card's assigned currency and the amount needed including fees. Moving through the approval screen again cannot fix an insufficient assigned balance.
Read the status before making another attempt
The word pending describes different stages in Pay and card payments. Open the actual transaction and use its product and status together. Applying one product's clock to another can leave you waiting for the wrong event.
Pay pending: the UK seven-day rule
The UK personal Pay help says most Pay transactions complete immediately. Pending means the merchant has not yet processed the payment. If the merchant does not process it within 7 days, the funds return automatically to the Revolut account under that UK Pay guidance.
That period concerns an unprocessed Pay payment. It does not set the deadline for a card reservation, a casino balance credit or a withdrawal to a card.
Card pending: use the reversal date in the app
Revolut's Luxembourg card help defines pending as authorised but not fully processed. The amount is temporarily reserved and unavailable until the merchant completes or cancels the payment, or it expires.
To find the relevant date, open Home → transactions → the card payment → Status. The reversal date shown there belongs to that transaction. Revolut says it cannot cancel the pending payment from its side before the date shown in the app. The merchant can progress the transaction; if it takes no action by the unblock date, the reserved money should become available again.
The practical distinction is between money reserved for a payment and money fully processed by the merchant. A reserved amount has not become a spare balance simply because the casino page did not show a successful deposit.
Reverted: cancellation or unclaimed funds
The Polish personal card help explains a change from pending to reverted as a merchant cancellation or a failure to claim the funds within the allotted time. Contact the merchant for the reason it cancelled the payment.
Reversal changes the original transaction. If you were expecting a refund and that original payment was reverted, there will not be a separate refund transaction. The same help also explains that a merchant can make a separate charge or delayed debit later where goods or services have already been supplied. Treating a reverted payment as a fresh credit and spending it twice can therefore create a mistaken picture of your balance.
Declined: inspect the reason, including an absent entry
For a declined card payment visible in the app, the Luxembourg help path is transactions → declined payment → Status. The reason should appear there; Get help opens the assistance route for that transaction.
If there is no declined entry, Revolut's help identifies merchant restrictions and technical problems on the merchant side as possible explanations. An absent issuer record does not by itself tell you that the casino received a deposit. Keep the checkout result alongside the app status when describing the problem to support.
Separate card costs from the casino's cashier terms
The UK card fee guidance says Revolut does not charge an issuer fee for card purchases in the account's base currency. It separately allows charges for spending in another currency and for cash withdrawals. A cash withdrawal in that card-help context is distinct from requesting a casino to pay winnings.
Read the layers separately: the purchase currency, any conversion, the issuer's card conditions and the casino's own transaction terms. A base-currency issuer fee statement cannot establish that a casino charges nothing, offers a particular deposit minimum or supports a card payout.
Limits can be personal or category based
The UK instructions let you set a card-specific monthly spending limit through Home → card icon → choose the card → Settings → Spending limit. Payments exceeding that limit are declined. The setting can therefore explain a failed card payment even when the account holds enough funds.
The same UK help lists a rolling £25,000 per 7 days limit for the betting and gambling merchant category. This is a regional issuer limit, not a casino deposit allowance, a withdrawal maximum or permission to use any particular casino. Keep it separate from a user-set monthly limit and from the cashier's own limits.
A cashout approval and a card credit happen at different stages
A casino approving a withdrawal answers a question about its own processing. To trace a payment expected at Revolut, establish whether the sender has actually dispatched it and which destination it used. A card-number transfer has a different receiving stage from a bank transfer or a return of an earlier purchase.
Revolut's Spain personal help describes inbound transfers directly to a card number and notes that some gambling merchants use them for disbursements. If Revolut accepts such a transfer, that Spanish guidance says it should credit within 30 minutes. The condition is acceptance by Revolut. The clock is not a promise that a casino will approve, send and settle a withdrawal within half an hour.
For a missing transfer in that receiving-card scenario, the same guidance gives concrete checks:
- Confirm the destination Revolut card number.
- Establish that the sender approved the transaction and the funds left the external account.
- Look in the other currency accounts in case the transfer arrived in a different currency.
- If the money left the external account and remains uncredited at Revolut, contact the sending merchant.
These are checks for that Spanish inbound-card scenario. They do not establish a supported Polish casino payout route or a common EU cashout time. The casino still needs to offer the outgoing method for the account concerned.
The general casino withdrawal guide covers the earlier request, review and verification stages. Here, the useful handover is the point at which a merchant says it has sent the money and you need to identify the receiving transaction.
For the earlier request and review stages, use the casino withdrawal guide.
Choose the next step from the transaction you have
If you are at checkout, identify Pay or card before looking for an approval. If a card payment failed, use Status, the assigned currency and the card limit to narrow down the cause. If money is reserved, use the actual reversal date. For money coming back, keep the sender's dispatch and Revolut's receipt as separate events.
When comparing casinos, read the individual casino's account and payment conditions alongside these provider mechanics. That gives the checkout instructions their proper context: the actual product, currency and outgoing method offered to that account.

Questions and answers
How do I approve Revolut Pay versus a Revolut card payment?
At a compatible checkout, the UK personal Revolut Pay flow redirects you to the app to approve payment without entering card or bank details. A Revolut card uses the card route. The German personal card guidance describes a requested 3DS confirmation by app notification; if it does not arrive, open the app while logged in.
Why can a Revolut card be declined when I hold money in other currencies?
In Revolut's UK example, one applicable currency balance must cover the payment plus fees; balances in different currencies are not combined. A card assigned to an underfunded currency can be declined even if money is held elsewhere in the account.
How long can a Revolut Pay payment stay pending?
Under the UK personal Pay guidance, Pending means the merchant has not yet processed the payment. If it remains unprocessed for seven days, the funds return automatically to the Revolut account. That rule concerns an unprocessed Pay payment; it does not set a deadline for a card reservation or casino withdrawal.
