Sweet Bonanza Xmas: frozen sweets and free-spin baubles
Sweet Bonanza Xmas puts snow on the fruit and sweets, then lets eight or more matching symbols pay anywhere across its six-reel, five-row grid.
The feature starts with 10 free spins. Golden baubles join those spins with values up to 100x each, and their sum multiplies a whole tumble sequence.
Pragmatic Play announced this festive edition in 2019. Its frozen appearance is the reason to choose it, and the calculation is worth learning too: several small fruit wins can enter one sequence total before the baubles apply. Start with the symbol counts and that addition, then choose between ordinary spins, the extra ante stake and the 100x feature purchase.
Eight matching symbols can sit across all 30 positions
Count the same symbol across the entire 6 by 5 grid. A paying group can be spread between reels and rows; adjacent positions and a left-to-right line are not required. The ordinary tiers are eight or nine matching symbols, ten or eleven, and twelve or more. Seven of one ordinary symbol falls below its paying threshold.
A paid group starts a tumble. The winning symbols disappear, the remaining symbols drop, and new symbols enter from above. A new paying group gives another award within the same sequence. When a refill produces no winning group, that sequence ends. The rules place no numerical limit on the possible tumbles; that concerns the number of refills, rather than a promise of unlimited winnings.
- Count each ordinary symbol type anywhere on the grid.
- Add any awards from different paying symbol types.
- Remove the winning symbols, drop the others and refill.
- Repeat while wins form. Base-spin tumble awards reach the balance together at the end of the sequence.
The pink spiral lollipop has a separate job as the scatter. It can appear on all reels and pays anywhere, but uses its own four-, five- and six-symbol awards. The golden bauble is a feature multiplier with its own rules, so neither special symbol belongs in the ordinary fruit count.
Every fruit and sweet, with its paying count
The ordinary figures are multiples of the full normal total stake B, before a free-spin bauble multiplier. Use the tier for the total count of that symbol. A count of twelve or more takes the final tier; it does not add the lower tiers as extra awards.

The USD paytable configuration uses B = USD 2. For example, its eight-heart award is USD 20, while eight bananas pay USD 0.50. Those amounts scale from the table's full-stake multiples; they are different awards even though both groups have eight matching symbols.
Hypothetical paid-round example: one eight-heart group at a normal USD 2 stake, with no other wins or feature, pays USD 2 x 10 = USD 20 gross. Subtract that one USD 2 paid stake and the round's net result is USD 18. This illustrates the calculation, not the likelihood of getting the hearts.

Golden baubles multiply one tumble sequence
Baubles appear only during free spins, which use special feature reels. Each bauble receives one of these values: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x. It stays on screen until the current tumbling sequence ends.
At that point, add the values of the visible baubles and multiply the total ordinary win for the sequence by the sum. Two baubles marked 2x and 5x give 7x. They are not multiplied together into 10x. The 7x applies to all the ordinary awards collected in that sequence, including an earlier tumble, rather than only its last award.
Hypothetical free-spin sequence at a normal reference stake of USD 2:
- An eight-banana group pays USD 0.50.
- A ten-plum group pays USD 2.40 in another tumble of the same sequence.
- Baubles showing 2x and 5x are still visible when the sequence ends.
- The calculation is (USD 0.50 + USD 2.40) x (2 + 5) = USD 20.30.
The multiplier belongs to that sequence. Start the next free spin with its own symbols and baubles; do not carry the 7x across the remaining feature. A sequence with no bauble keeps its ordinary awards without an added multiplier. A bauble also needs a sequence win to multiply: it is not a cash award on its own.
Three scatters add five more spins
During the feature, three or more scatters add five free spins. One retrigger would therefore make a hypothetical total of 10 + 5 = 15 spins. That is the count in this example, not an expected count or a maximum. The rules do not give a numerical retrigger limit.
The complete feature win is credited when the free-spins round finishes. Game history records the whole cycle total, so a final feature figure can contain several separately calculated tumble sequences. Do not multiply that whole figure again by the baubles from the last spin.

A normal spin, the ante or a 100x feature purchase
Normal play uses the 20x stake parameter. The bet-menu construction is BET units x coin value x 20. The 20 is part of the stake calculation; it is neither twenty paylines nor an extra winning multiplier. For example, the USD menu shows 3 BET units x USD 0.05 x 20 = USD 3 total stake.
The optional ante changes that parameter to 25x, increasing the stake by 25% when BET units and coin value stay the same. Pragmatic Play describes twice the natural free-spin chance and more scatters in this mode. This is a relative feature-chance claim, without an absolute hit rate or a promised financial advantage.
Normal spin
- Cost at normal B = USD 2
- USD 2
- What changes
- Ordinary play at the 20x parameter; the 100x feature purchase is available in the documented configuration.
Ante spin
- Cost at normal B = USD 2
- USD 2.50
- What changes
- The parameter becomes 25x and the natural feature chance is described as doubled. Feature purchase is disabled.
Feature purchase
- Cost at normal B = USD 2
- USD 200
- What changes
- Pay 100 times the normal total bet to enter a free-spins round. This is a separate charge, not a USD 2 spin.
The same arithmetic gives USD 2 x 25 / 20 = USD 2.50 for the ante, and USD 2 x 100 = USD 200 for a purchase. The stake menu remains the place to distinguish the ordinary amount from the ante offer. Turning on the ante removes the buy option; the two are alternative routes into the feature.
Buying gives access to the round, without guaranteeing its payout will repay the purchase price. Nothing in the documented rules assigns a better RTP to the buy than to an ordinary spin. The feature button, currencies and available stake limits belong to the game configuration offered by the casino.
What the USD stake limits and RTP figures describe
The USD help configuration displays a minimum bet of USD 0.20 and a maximum of USD 300. Its normal BETMAX menu shows USD 240 with BET units 10, coin value USD 1.20 and the 20x parameter. Beside that normal amount, the optional ante is USD 300 while the ante switch is off. These are two different stake amounts on the same screen.
At the USD 240 normal amount, the 100x buy price is USD 24,000. That follows the purchase multiplier; it does not change the ordinary stake into USD 24,000. These USD limits do not establish a corresponding EUR or PLN minimum or maximum.

RTP describes a theoretical long-run return from total stakes. It is not the chance that the next spin wins, nor a promise that a session returns that percentage. The catalogue's 96.48% and the help's 96.49% to 96.60% remain separate figures; assigning one to normal play and another to a buy would add a mode distinction the rules do not state.
Hypothetical RTP arithmetic: assume a configuration has 96.48% RTP and USD 10,000 of total stake turnover. Its theoretical mean return is USD 10,000 x 0.9648 = USD 9,648, a mean difference of USD 352. Turnover is the sum of stakes placed over play, not one deposit. This is a long-run calculation, not a measured loss or a prediction of your session.
Volatility and the over-21,100x wording
Pragmatic Play's launch description calls Sweet Bonanza Xmas high volatility, while the USD help and introductory screen label it low volatility. Those descriptions do not supply a win-frequency distribution or explain their difference. Keep the version's own help alongside any label when deciding whether its pace suits you; neither label guarantees frequent payments in a short session.
The game's banner advertises potential over 21,100x bet. It gives a potential win level, without an explicit hard round cap. A single bauble's 100x limit is a different quantity: several baubles are added before they multiply the ordinary sequence total. The banner is neither a guaranteed result nor a record of an actual big win.
Find the right controls before changing the stake
The information icon opens the game rules and paytable. Left and right arrows move through the help pages, and the cross closes them. Use the exact Sweet Bonanza Xmas title on that screen to distinguish the festive game from another Sweet Bonanza edition.
The documented native interface has these controls:
- Plus and minus open the bet menu and change BET units or coin value. Read TOTAL BET after changing either.
- CREDIT and BET labels switch between cash and coin views. A coin count needs its denomination before you compare it with a cash amount.
- The speed control cycles normal, quick and turbo. Speed settings change the presentation; they do not document a better payout chance.
- The sound button switches sound and music. Settings separately include the intro screen, ambient audio, sound effects and game history.
- SPACE and ENTER are documented desktop spin controls. They can start and stop a spin, so avoid pressing them while only trying to read the help.
- Autoplay is documented with selectable spin counts; pressing its button again stops it. SKIP SCREENS advances the feature introduction and ending after a short pause.
The provider's public product page is the route to its demo option. Demo credits belong to that demonstration and cannot be withdrawn. A casino's offered currency, settings and device controls still belong to its own version; a demo label does not establish a separate app or an APK download.
Choose the snow-covered edition for its presentation
The original Sweet Bonanza also has count-based pays, ten starting free spins and feature symbols from 2x to 100x whose values add at sequence end. Xmas changes the familiar fruit and sweets to a frozen festive look, including snow-covered symbols and golden Christmas baubles. That is a useful reason to choose it if the original mechanism already appeals to you.
Shared broad mechanics do not mean every Sweet Bonanza version has the same reel strips, return or stake settings. Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Super Scatter have their own exact-edition rules. Choose the exact title shown in the game information before comparing multiplier limits.
For a casino choice, move from the game's maths to the account and offer conditions. The Vavada casino review explains its catalogue, bonus choices and account rules; it is a general casino comparison step, without a promise that this exact Xmas edition is available there.
