Rainbow Riches: follow the lines and the cash features

Rainbow Riches puts three cash features around a five-reel game with 1 to 20 selectable paylines. Regular symbols pay against your stake on the winning line. Road to Riches, Wishing Well and Pots of Gold multiply your total stake. That difference changes how a 150x symbol award compares with a 20x bonus prize.

The original Barcrest mobile edition has a straightforward appeal: choose your active lines, follow adjacent matches from the left, then switch to a path, a well or rotating pots when the corresponding scatters land. Each feature has potential up to 500x total stake in this version. The later Rainbow Riches (GDM) and Rainbow Riches Deluxe have separate rules and figures.

Your line stake does the work on the reels

The original grid is five reels by three rows. You can activate between 1 and 20 fixed paylines. A line is a route through one position on each reel; it can run straight, bend or zigzag. Winning symbols must occupy adjacent reels starting with reel 1, and the route must be active.

Your total stake is shared equally across the active lines:

Total stake = active paylines × stake per line.

With a hypothetical EUR1 total stake on all 20 lines, each line carries EUR0.05. A qualifying combination on one line uses EUR0.05 as its payout base. The same EUR1 is the base for a feature multiplier. These are calculation examples, not claims about a casino's available EUR settings or results from actual play.

Changing the line count changes what is covered and how the stake is allocated. Keeping EUR0.05 per line while moving from 10 to 20 active lines doubles the hypothetical total stake from EUR0.50 to EUR1. Keeping the total at EUR1 would instead halve the stake on each line. The available stake settings must divide equally, so every possible total amount is not necessarily selectable.

Only the highest applicable combination pays on a winning line. A five-Ace line pays its five-symbol award; you do not add the three-Ace and four-Ace awards underneath it. Wins on separate active paylines are added together. Scatters use their feature triggers rather than the ordinary left-to-right line test.

The gold coin Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols, including the logo and card ranks. It also has its own payout row. It does not replace Road to Riches, Wishing Well or Pots of Gold scatters. A Wild beside two wells therefore cannot complete the three-well trigger.

For a hypothetical EUR1 total stake across 20 active lines, five Aces on one line pay 150 × EUR0.05 = EUR7.50. If a five-Wild line and a separate five-Queen line both qualify, their awards total (500 + 100) × EUR0.05 = EUR30. Neither example estimates how often the combinations occur.

The ordinary reference has columns for three, four and five matches. No two-symbol award is added to it. Feature symbols are explained separately because their multipliers use total stake.

Road to Riches: follow the path until COLLECT

Three or more scattered leprechaun symbols start Road to Riches. They do not need to form an ordinary winning payline. Press SPIN in the feature to turn its wheel. The wheel can land on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or COLLECT.

A numbered result moves the leprechaun that many steps along the cash path. Keep spinning and progressing until COLLECT lands or the top prize is reached. The value on the final path position is multiplied by the total stake that triggered the feature; the active line count and stake per line stay at their triggering settings.

COLLECT on the first wheel spin pays zero. The cash path has not yet advanced. Once it has advanced, the final position supplies the feature award. Road's positive awards are described as 1x to 500x total stake, with that initial zero outcome kept separate. The wheel's seven named positions do not establish equal probabilities.

Road to Riches cash path Three or more Road scatters start a wheel that advances the path until COLLECT or the top prize, with zero awarded if COLLECT lands on the first wheel spin. NO YES 3 or more Road scatters Start the cash-path feature Spin the wheel 1 to 6 steps: advance COLLECT: end the feature COLLECT or top prize? Final path value × triggering total stake First-wheel COLLECT: zero feature win
The wheel moves the leprechaun; the final cash-path position sets the award.

The number on the wheel is a step count. It is not itself a payout multiplier. A wheel result of 6 means six steps along the path; the eventual position determines the multiplier paid.

Wishing Well

Three or more scattered wells open a selection of three wells. Choose one to reveal its prize. The selected value multiplies the triggering total stake, with awards described as 2x to 500x total stake. Your triggering line count and stake per line remain in force.

A hypothetical 20x well at EUR1 total stake awards EUR20. It uses the full EUR1, whereas a 20x ordinary line multiplier at the same 20-line setting would use EUR0.05. The illustrative 20x value does not identify a likely well, a preferred picking position or a way to predict the hidden prize.

Pots of Gold

Pots of Gold symbols appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4. Three scattered pots trigger the feature. The gold, silver and bronze pots rotate around the screen; when they stop, an arrow points to one pot. That pot's value multiplies the total stake.

The award range is 50x to 500x total stake. The feature retains the triggering bet configuration. You do not select the pot yourself as you do a Wishing Well; the stopped display and arrow determine the selected pot.

At a hypothetical EUR0.20 total stake, a 500x feature prize would be 500 × EUR0.20 = EUR100. This is the feature potential expressed in money. It is not an observed win or a universal cap on all awards in a round.

The 20 routes through the original grid

Each sequence below reads reels 1 through 5. T means top row, M middle row and B bottom row. Activate the route for it to register a line win. These are fixed paths, not a count of every possible way through the grid.

The three straight routes are easy to spot. The others show why a match can pay along a bent line while apparently similar symbols elsewhere on the screen do not. Start at the leftmost reel and trace the active route rather than counting matching symbols anywhere in the grid.

What the original 95% RTP means

The original mobile configuration described here has 95.00% theoretical RTP, corresponding to a 5.00% house edge. Its return breaks down into 53.01 percentage points from the base game and 41.99 from the features. Together they make 95.00%; neither component is a probability of entering a bonus.

RTP describes the model's long-run return across total stakes. For a hypothetical EUR200 of turnover at 95%, the mathematical expected return is EUR190 and the expected cost is EUR10: EUR200 × 5% = EUR10. Turnover means the accumulated stakes, including any money staked again. It is different from a starting deposit, and a session can finish far from that expectation.

The model also labels a 27.02% hit frequency on 20 lines. A hit frequency is not the chance of making an overall profit. An award can be smaller than the total stake, and the figure should not be transferred to a different line setting or edition.

Wishing Well
107 spins

Pots of Gold

Those averages describe the model; they are not countdowns. Passing 115 spins does not make Road due on the next spin. Pots has a much longer published average wait than the other two features, but these figures do not provide a full distribution of outcomes or a numerical volatility rating.

The historical configuration lists a minimum stake of 0.01 on one line and a maximum of 400.00, without naming a currency. At 0.01 per line, 20 lines make 0.20 total stake by calculation. These figures are not EUR, GBP or PLN limits for a current casino. The game instance's own denomination and stake controls determine the money amount available there.

GDM and Deluxe keep the name and change the game

Original Rainbow Riches mobile

The original Barcrest-series game covered here uses five reels, three rows and 1 to 20 selectable lines. Its named features are Road to Riches, Wishing Well and Pots of Gold, each with potential up to 500x total stake. The 95% model belongs to this edition.

Rainbow Riches (GDM)

The revised GDM product, Game ID 71504, has a 5x3 grid and 20 lines, with an advertised top prize of 520x. Three, four and five Road scatters lead to Road to Riches, Super Road to Riches and Mega Road to Riches, respectively. The original rules' three-or-more trigger should not be expanded into those later tiers.

GDM has named 96%, 94%, 92% and 90% versions. For its lowest version, the catalogue gives 87% in the version list and 88% in the summary. Use the help screen of the specific GDM instance for that lowest setting; the original mobile game's 95% is separate from either figure.

Rainbow Riches Deluxe

Deluxe, Game ID 70864, is a 10-line game with Bonus Trail and Round the Board features and an advertised 2,000x top prize. Its named RTP versions are 96% and 94%. That combination of lines and features identifies a different product even when the leprechaun looks familiar.

Pick n Mix, Megaways and Slingo searches also concern separately named products. Their rules do not become part of the original by sharing Rainbow Riches in the title. Match the full game name, then read the corresponding help before comparing a payout or RTP.

Trying the game and choosing a casino

The developer's demo service opens a Demo Login gateway. It is an access route, not an anonymous original-game demo embedded on this page. Free play uses a virtual balance; it does not award withdrawable cash. A casino's promotional free spins are a separate offer with its own eligibility, funding and wagering terms.

Open demo page

For real-money play, identify the full edition name in the casino catalogue, then open that instance's help and paytable. Compare the actual RTP, denomination, active-line controls and ordinary-versus-feature stake units. A provider name in a casino's catalogue does not establish that it carries this exact original, and the same game brand does not establish a country's availability.

The Vavada casino review explains its general catalogue, account and bonus choices. Use it to assess the casino separately from these game rules; it is not a claim that Vavada currently carries original Rainbow Riches.
