Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000: follow the winning tumble
Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 gives the familiar six-reel tumble game a snowy setting and multiplier symbols up to 1,000x. Count matching symbols anywhere on its 6 × 5 screen, let the winning tumbles finish, then watch the multiplier total. Four or more scatters start 15 free spins, where qualifying multipliers can build through the feature.
The attraction is that whole-sequence calculation: several modest symbol wins can feed the same multiplier. The Christmas edition suits players who enjoy following that build, with Santa-hat Zeus beside a golden, snow-covered frame. Its 15,000x round maximum is a possible ceiling, and reaching it ends the round immediately.
Eight matching symbols can be scattered across the screen
The screen has six columns, five rows and 30 positions. A regular symbol pays once its total count reaches eight, wherever those copies land. They can sit on opposite sides of the grid. You do not need a left-to-right line or a connected cluster.
Count each symbol separately. Seven crowns plus one hourglass do not make eight matching symbols. Eight crowns and eight blue gems can both pay on the same screen, and their awards are added. The number of copies selects one of three bands: 8-9, 10-11 or 12-30. The higher band replaces the lower award for that symbol count; the three bands are not three payments added together.
The Christmas identity is easy to spot: snow sits on the gem symbols and golden frame, while Zeus wears a Santa hat. Pragmatic Play announced this exact edition on 2 December 2024. Keep the full Xmas 1000 name in view when choosing it: the original Gates of Olympus, the non-seasonal 1000 game and Super Scatter have their own rules.
Crown, hourglass and gem payouts before multipliers
These figures are multiples of the normal total stake, before a qualifying multiplier. The English USD paytable displays its cash awards at a USD 2 normal stake; dividing those awards by two gives the multiples here. For example, the crown's USD 100 award becomes 50x. The ante setting has a higher paid stake at the same coin settings, so these figures must not be multiplied by that larger ante stake as if the payout basis had changed.

The crown has the largest ordinary award in every band. The jump to twelve copies matters: twelve goblets pay 12x, compared with 2x for ten or eleven. Once you reach the 12-30 band, extra copies remain in that same band.
Hypothetical symbol example: at a normal USD 2 stake, eight crowns pay USD 20 and eight blue gems pay USD 0.50. Together they give USD 20.50 before multipliers. These are arithmetic examples, not results from a played session.
Zeus scatters have their own payout and trigger
The Santa-hat Zeus portrait labelled SCATTER can appear on every reel and pays in any position. Its documented cash tiers at a USD 2 normal stake are:
- 4 scatters
- 3x normal stake
USD 6
- 5 scatters
- 5x normal stake
USD 10
- 6 scatters
- 100x normal stake
USD 200
Four or more scatters also start 15 free spins. The scatter award and the free-spin trigger are separate parts of that result. The payout rows cover four, five and six scatters; do not extend the cash table to larger counts by guessing another step.
One paid spin can contain several winning tumbles
After a win, the winning symbols disappear. The remaining symbols fall towards the bottom and replacements arrive from above. The new screen can pay again, starting another tumble within that same spin. This continues until the replacement screen produces no further winning combination.
All the paying stages feed the sequence total. A base-spin sequence settles after its tumbles finish. There is no fixed numerical limit on the number of possible tumbles, although the 15,000x round cap still ends a round that reaches it.
Multiplier symbols can arrive on any reel, on the initial spin or a later tumble, in both normal play and free spins. Their complete value set is 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x and 1,000x.
At the end of the sequence, add the values of the multiplier symbols on screen. That sum multiplies the sequence's total win. A 2x symbol beside a 5x symbol gives 7x; multiplying those symbols together to get 10x would use the wrong calculation. A multiplier needs a winning amount to work on.
Hypothetical tumble example: a completed sequence has USD 2.40 in symbol wins and ends with 2x and 5x multiplier symbols. Its calculation is USD 2.40 × (2 + 5) = USD 16.80. The USD 2.40 is the total of that sequence, so the 7x applies once to that total.
Free spins keep a multiplier total, with a condition
The feature starts with 15 free spins and uses special reels. During it, a multiplier adds to the running total when it lands on a spin that results in a win. When a new multiplier lands on a winning spin, the accumulated value also multiplies that win. Watch both parts of the condition: a fresh multiplier and a winning sequence.
A stored total does not automatically multiply every later win. For example, suppose the feature already holds 7x. A later winning sequence worth USD 1.50 lands a new 3x multiplier. The total rises to 10x, and the award is USD 1.50 × 10 = USD 15. A later winning sequence with no new multiplier does not meet the condition for applying that stored total. A new multiplier on a non-winning spin does not qualify for adding its value either.
Three or more scatters during free spins add five spins. This is a different threshold from the four-scatter entry trigger. Free-spin winnings settle after the feature finishes, and the history records the whole cycle's win. The round can finish before its remaining spins are used if it reaches the maximum.
The 1,000x printed on a multiplier symbol is that symbol's value. The running feature total can combine qualifying values, while the round's capped payout is a separate quantity. Keeping those three numbers apart makes the animation much easier to follow.
Normal play, ante and buying the feature have different costs
The game's bet menu uses a 20x normal setting and a 25x ante setting. These numbers construct the stake from the BET and COIN VALUE fields; they are not paylines and do not describe a multiplier on winnings. With BET set to 3 and COIN VALUE at USD 0.05, normal total stake is 20 × 3 × USD 0.05 = USD 3.
- Normal play
- 20 × BET × COIN VALUE
Ordinary spins; the documented feature purchase is available at this setting.
- Ante bet
- 25 × BET × COIN VALUE
Costs 25% more at unchanged coin settings, adds more scatters and doubles the natural free-spin chance described by the game. Feature purchase is disabled.
- Buy free spins
- 100 × current normal total stake
Triggers the feature with four scatters and 15 free spins. Available with the 20x setting, subject to the options offered by the casino.
Hypothetical cost comparison: normal total stake is USD 2. Leaving the coin settings unchanged and selecting ante raises each stake to USD 2.50. Buying the feature at the normal setting costs USD 200. You cannot combine the 25x ante setting with that purchase.
The ante description gives a relative change in the natural trigger chance. It does not supply an absolute frequency such as one bonus every set number of spins, and it guarantees no trigger on your next spin. A feature purchase guarantees the described entry, while its eventual winnings can still fall below its price.
For ordinary spins, compare the total amount beside BET after changing a setting. For a feature purchase, compare its separate price with the normal stake. The difference between USD 2.50 and USD 200 is too large to treat both as the same kind of button.
The 15,000x maximum ends the round
The maximum total award for a round is 15,000x the bet. When the running round win reaches that amount, the round ends immediately, the award is paid up to the cap and all remaining features are forfeited. There are no extra free spins to complete after reaching it.
Hypothetical cap conversion: with a normal USD 0.20 stake, 15,000 × USD 0.20 equals USD 3,000. This translates the ceiling into money; it gives no probability of reaching it and no expected return for a session.
Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 carries a high volatility label. Its win amounts can vary sharply, and the large multiplier values are the attraction for players who want that style of game. The label is not a hit rate, a countdown to a feature or a promise that a longer session will reach a large award.
RTP belongs to the selected configuration and mode
Pragmatic Play's catalogue lists 96.50% RTP. The English USD help gives 96.50% for normal play, 96.50% for ante and 96.49% for Buy Free Spins. Those are mode-specific theoretical figures for that configuration, rather than a promise about every casino's settings.
- Normal
- 96.50%
- Ante
- 96.50%
- Buy Free Spins
- 96.49%
At 96.50%, the arithmetic difference from 100% is 3.50%. Applied to USD 1,000 of total long-run stake turnover, that percentage is USD 35. Turnover means the sum of stakes across rounds, including money staked again; it is not the opening deposit. A short session can finish far above or below that theoretical return.
The same English USD help prints a whole-game stake range of USD 0.20 to USD 300. It does not establish separate mode-specific ceilings or a matching EUR or PLN range. For the version you open, use its information screen to identify its RTP and its bet menu to see the displayed currency and total stake before choosing a mode.
Open the exact Xmas demo and read its controls
The publisher's demo link names Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000, with English and USD in its parameters. It leads to the provider's separate demo rather than a real-money casino account. A demo balance and its awards are virtual; the demo's settings do not establish the configuration offered by a casino.
The native interface gives you these controls:
- Plus and minus change the stake and open the bet menu. BET and COIN VALUE adjust the calculation; TOTAL BET shows the resulting amount in coins and cash.
- The information button opens the rules and paytable. Its left and right arrows move between pages, and the X closes the information screen.
- CREDIT and BET can switch between coin and cash display. Read the cash total when comparing normal and ante cost.
- The settings menu controls the introductory screen, ambient sound, sound effects and game history. History records the complete free-spin cycle's win.
- Speed has normal, quick and turbo settings. The documented autoplay menu starts automatic spins from a chosen count and can be stopped by pressing Autoplay again. Skip Screens skips the feature's opening and closing screens after a short delay. These are interface options, not methods for changing the paytable or raising a multiplier.
Use the exact game title and mode when comparing a demo with a casino lobby. A provider's name in a casino catalogue alone does not establish this edition's availability, its country eligibility or its settings.
Choose the Gates edition for the feature you want
Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 combines 1,000x individual multipliers with Christmas artwork. If that is your reason for choosing it, the snowy frame and Santa-hat Zeus identify the right game. Its non-seasonal 1000 neighbour shares the same individual multiplier ceiling and 15,000x round cap, but each edition has its own paytable and help.
Gates of Olympus
The original game's individual multiplier symbols reach 500x. Choose its own review for the original rules.
Gates of Olympus 1000
Non-seasonal artwork with individual multiplier symbols reaching 1,000x and a 15,000x round cap.
Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000
Snow-covered artwork, 1,000x individual multipliers, a 15,000x round cap and the 25% ante surcharge described above.
Gates of Olympus Super Scatter
Adds instant Super Scatter awards within qualifying combinations of at least four scatters of either kind. Its 50,000x cap, 50% ante surcharge and 500x Super Free Spins purchase belong to that edition; its ordinary multipliers top out at 500x.
The useful choice is the feature you want to follow. Choose Xmas 1000 for the seasonal presentation and accumulating multiplier feature, then decide whether ordinary spins, the more expensive ante setting or a separately priced feature entry matches the amount you intended to stake.
Compare the casino account and bonus choices separately
A game mechanic tells you how a round pays. A casino review answers the next questions about its catalogue, account and bonus choices. Read the Vavada casino review for those project details; check this exact game in the lobby you intend to use before treating it as available there.
