Big Bass Splash: free spins that start with random modifiers
Big Bass Splash puts its cowboy fisherman on a five-reel, three-row grid with ten paylines.
The attraction is the free-spin round: up to five randomly selected modifiers can change the fish, Wilds, rescue features or starting level before collection begins. Choose Splash for that changing feature setup and the chance to advance to a 10x fish-collection multiplier.
The game is published by Pragmatic Play, carries Reel Kingdom branding and arrived in 2022. Its ordinary line wins, money-fish collections and scatter trigger do different jobs. Keeping those jobs separate makes a busy bonus screen much easier to read.
Two scatters can get another chance
Three, four or five scatter fish anywhere on the reels start 10, 15 or 20 free spins, respectively. A scatter does not have to form a left-to-right paying line. The fisherman Wild appears during free spins and substitutes for every ordinary symbol, but cannot replace a scatter to trigger the round.
Exactly two scatters in the base game can produce a random rescue. One possibility nudges the scatter reels down by one position while the reels without scatters respin. That nudge is possible only when both visible scatters can move down without leaving the reel area. The other possibility is a hook pulling one reel upward to reveal a third scatter. Neither rescue is guaranteed when two scatters land.

The higher spin count applies only when the +2 modifier is selected. It is an addition to the starting spin count, with a further effect on retriggers explained below.
Read the modifiers before the first free spin
Splash randomly chooses zero to five modifiers before the feature starts. You do not select a preferred combination. The selected modifiers apply to the following free-spin round, which uses special feature reels.
- More fish adds more fish symbols to the feature reel strips. It changes the supply of collectable money symbols.
- More fisherman adds more fisherman Wilds to those reel strips. Wilds collect money and also count towards feature progression.
- More dynamites, hooks and bazookas increases the chance of the named rescue features during free spins. It does not promise that one will occur on every incomplete collection screen.
- Start from level 2 begins the progressive feature at its second level, where the money-collection multiplier is 2x.
- +2 spins adds two spins to the initial batch and two to every retrigger. A ten-spin retrigger therefore becomes twelve spins when this modifier applies.
That last distinction matters when comparing two bonus rounds. A round with more starting spins and a round beginning at level 2 have different advantages: one has extra opportunities, while the other starts with a higher collection multiplier. The result still depends on what lands.
Fish need a fisherman to collect their money
The paying fish symbol carries a randomly assigned money value on every spin. Its possible values are 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x, 1,666x, 2,500x and 5,000x the total bet. These values are separate from the fish's ordinary line payout.
During free spins, each fisherman Wild collects every visible money-fish value. Two Wilds collect the same visible fish twice. A single fish can therefore contribute to money collection without appearing in an ordinary paying line, while a left-to-right fish combination may also produce a separate line win.
The collection calculation is:
Sum of visible fish values x total bet x number of fisherman Wilds x current collection multiplier.
If there are fish but no fisherman, the fish money is not collected from that screen unless a rescue brings in a fisherman. The fish's ordinary line payout is still assessed by the normal payline rules. A fisherman without a money fish can also help form a line win and counts towards feature progression.
Hypothetical collection example: at a USD 0.50 total bet, fish marked 2x, 5x and 10x have a combined value of USD 8.50. With two fisherman Wilds at the 3x collection level, their collection pays (2 + 5 + 10) x USD 0.50 x 2 x 3 = USD 51. Any ordinary line wins are calculated separately. This illustrates the rule, rather than a recorded spin or a predicted result.
Every fourth Wild advances the feature
The game counts fisherman Wilds throughout the free-spin round. Every fourth collected Wild retriggers ten more free spins and advances the money-collection multiplier: 2x at level 2, 3x at level 3 and 10x at level 4. With the +2 spins modifier, the retrigger awards twelve spins.
Level 1
- Money-collection multiplier
- 1x
- Next progression
- Four collected Wilds award the level 2 batch
Level 2
- Money-collection multiplier
- 2x
- Next progression
- The next four award the level 3 batch
Level 3
- Money-collection multiplier
- 3x
- Next progression
- The next four award the level 4 batch
Level 4
- Money-collection multiplier
- 10x
- Next progression
- No further retrigger
The new batch starts after the previous batch ends. Its higher multiplier applies to those retriggered spins. Reaching the next Wild threshold does not multiply all earlier collections again. The progression multiplier applies to money-fish collection; it does not multiply Splash's ordinary line wins.
Watch the fisherman count alongside the remaining spins. Fish amounts tell you what a collection screen can pay, while Wild progress tells you whether another batch has been earned. A large fish amount on its own does not advance the level.
Dynamite, hook and bazooka fill different gaps
All three are random free-spin features with a particular starting situation:
- With fishermen but no fish, dynamite can place money-fish symbols at random positions at the end of the spin.
- With fish but no fisherman, a hook can pull a random reel upward to bring fishermen into view.
- With fishermen but no fish, a bazooka can change every non-fisherman symbol at the end of the spin. The fishermen remain; the replacement symbols are not guaranteed to be fish.
The hook that can rescue two scatters in the base game has a different purpose from the free-spin hook that brings in a collector. The animation alone does not tell you which rule is being used: the current round and the symbols on screen do.
Ten lines, with the truck paying from two matches
Ordinary wins run left to right on adjacent reels, starting at reel 1. Matching symbols scattered elsewhere across the grid do not form a line win. Only the highest award on each winning payline is paid; wins on different paylines are added together.
The complete paytable uses multiples of the whole total bet, for one winning line. For example, a 5x award at a USD 2 total bet pays USD 10 on that line. The native coin display uses the bet per line instead: 50 coins times a USD 0.20 line stake produces the same USD 10. Keeping the units straight prevents a tenfold error.

The truck is the only ordinary symbol with a two-match payout. "No award" means that count has no listed line payout. Fish money values use the separate collection rule; the scatter is the feature trigger and the fisherman is the feature Wild.
Hypothetical line example: at a USD 2 total bet, exactly three trucks on each of two winning lines pay USD 2 x 5 x 2 = USD 20. Both combinations must begin on the leftmost reel, and neither line has a higher qualifying award. The example does not assume a frequency for landing those combinations.
A 100x buy starts a randomly sized feature
Where the Buy Free Spins option is enabled, its price is 100x the current total bet. Buying the round produces a triggering spin with a randomly selected three, four or five scatters, giving ten, fifteen or twenty initial spins. The selected modifiers can then change that round, including the +2 addition.
At a USD 0.50 total bet, the hypothetical buy price is USD 50. That payment purchases entry to the feature; it does not purchase USD 50 of winnings, a chosen scatter count or progression to level 4. The buy option's presence depends on the game configuration you open.
The 5,000x cap includes the whole round
Splash's maximum round win is 5,000x the bet. At a hypothetical USD 0.50 bet, that is a USD 2,500 limit. It is a cap on the round total, including the feature, rather than an additional award on top of the fish shown.
When the total reaches the cap, the round ends immediately, the win is paid up to that limit and remaining spins or features are forfeited. Even a 5,000x fish on a later collection screen remains subject to the same cap. "Max win" here is this fixed limit; it is not a separate accumulating jackpot.
RTP and stakes belong to the version you open
The provider's catalogue lists 96.71% RTP for Big Bass Splash. Both the English USD demo rules and the native R-denominated rulebook show 96.71% for regular play and for Buy Free Spins. RTP describes theoretical return over a very large volume of stakes. It is neither the chance of winning a spin nor an amount your own session is owed.
The two documented configurations differ in their stake displays and volatility labels:

The R denomination is reproduced as printed, without assigning it an ISO currency or converting it into PLN or EUR. The labels are descriptions attached to those configurations, rather than measurements of how often your next session will pay. Neither range is a promise about a casino's local-currency minimum or maximum.
Use the information button inside the game for the RTP displayed by the version you open. The + and - controls open the stake menu, which shows the total bet in cash and coins. Coins per line and coin value change the stake; switching the CREDIT or BET display between cash and coins changes how the amount is shown. Compare the cash total before using a feature buy.
The documented settings also include spin speed, sound, game history, the intro screen and autoplay. They change presentation or controls, not the paytable formula. Splash's feature options are the modifier and collection mechanics described here; a separate gamble or double-up menu is not part of these documented rules.

Splash or Big Bass Bonanza Megaways?
Splash keeps a 5x3 grid and ten paylines, then varies the free-spin setup through modifiers and random rescues. Its fisherman does both jobs during the feature: substituting in line combinations and collecting fish. The level multiplier belongs specifically to money collection, and the round cap is 5,000x.
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways uses six reels with changing heights, up to 46,656 ways and tumbles. Its net Wild and collecting fisherman have separate roles, its stage multipliers apply to wins more broadly and its cap is 4,000x. Choose it for the variable reel layout and tumbling combinations; choose Splash for the ten-line layout with its pre-feature modifiers. A family name is not a substitute for the exact edition on the game tile.
Open the demo, then compare the casino account
The provider demo gives you a separate route to Big Bass Splash. Open it as a demo, with practice credit rather than money available for withdrawal. This page links to the provider's demo; it does not contain an embedded playable game.
Pay particular attention to the selected modifiers, the Wild counter and when a retriggered batch starts. Those are the details most easily missed if you only watch the fish amount. The information panel and total cash bet help keep the displayed configuration and feature-buy cost in view.
For a casino account, compare its own catalogue, funding methods and bonus choices as well as the game rules. A casino bonus awarding promotional free spins has its own game eligibility and wagering conditions; Splash's in-game free-spin round does not establish those promotional terms.
