Casino free chip meaning: from bonus credit to cash
A casino free chip is a promotional credit expressed as a money amount, rather than a fixed number of free spins. With a no-deposit chip, you receive the credit without first funding the account. The credited amount and the amount you can withdraw are separate questions. The promotion's balance rules, playthrough and conversion terms determine what happens between them.
For example, a bonus can sit in a separate balance, generate winnings that remain in that balance, and become real funds only after its conditions are completed. Another reward may already be cash, while a third balance can buy competition entries but cannot be used as ordinary casino money. Looking at the number alone will not tell you which one you have.
Start with the type of balance
These published operator rules illustrate different balance models. They are explanations of how a reward works, not a list of free cash-chip offers.
Booi: bonus balance
Booi describes a bonus as a free bet without a cash equivalent. Its rules distinguish the bonus and its winnings from the real balance. Completion of the applicable wagering conditions can transfer the linked remaining bonus funds to the real balance, subject to the particular promotion's conversion restrictions.
What to establish: the exact promotion that awarded the credit, its currency and its wagering base. General bonus rules do not establish a free signup award or a particular credit amount.
MetaWin: playable reward
MetaWin's playable rewards are credits added to the account balance. They are initially non-withdrawable and require at least 1x casino wagering before they can be withdrawn as cash. Depending on the reward and promotion, credit may be automatic or require a claim through Inventory.
What to establish: whether your particular reward is playable, when it must be claimed and any terms attached to it. The published 1x rule is not a universal free-chip multiplier.
MetaWin: cash reward
MetaWin distinguishes cash rewards from playable rewards: cash rewards have no additional reward wagering requirement before withdrawal. They can also be used for play or competition entries. This says what that reward type permits; it does not promise that registration earns one or that a payment arrives immediately.
What to establish: the reward type you actually received. A page describing cash rewards does not turn every other MetaWin balance into cash.
MetaWin: Prize Funds
Prize Funds are a separate competition-entry balance, awarded as 30% of a deposit under MetaWin's published description. The deposit is the funding trigger. The additional balance is neither a cash deposit match nor withdrawable cashback.
Use conditions: real-money balances must be zero in all currencies; no casino round may remain open. MetaWin's FAQ also excludes use while a sports bet is open. These conditions matter even if Prize Funds are already visible in the balances dropdown.

For a bonus that requires playthrough, four stages answer four different questions. Use the promotion's own rules at each stage; the sequence is not a promise that every chip follows identical terms.
- Identify the award. A money-denominated credit gives you an amount to use under its terms. Record the award currency, whether activation is needed and whether the credit is on the bonus or real balance. A pending bonus is not the same as missing credit.
- Read the credited-turnover target. Find the multiplier and the amount it multiplies. Then check which games contribute and at what rate. The amount you stake and the amount recorded as progress can differ.
- Convert the remaining eligible balance. Completing the target does not mean you still have the original chip amount. Play changes the balance. A promotion's conversion ceiling can also reduce the amount transferred to real funds.
- Request a withdrawal under the payment rules. Conversion is a balance event; payment is a separate process. A reward's lack of additional wagering does not specify its withdrawal checks or processing time.
Before accepting a chip, establish what must happen to its balance before any remaining money becomes withdrawable.
Which balance pays for the next bet?
Booi's published funding order shows why this matters. With an active bonus, real funds are used first. If no real funds remain, the bonus balance supplies the bet, including winnings from the active bonus. A bet larger than the remaining real balance uses a mixture of real and bonus funds.
A bet funded entirely by real money
Under Booi's rules, winnings from that bet go directly to the real balance in the currency active when the bet was placed. The presence of an active bonus does not, by itself, put every win into the bonus balance.
A bonus-funded or mixed bet
Booi's ordinary rule credits winnings from bonus-funded or mixed bets to the bonus balance, in the currency active when the bet was placed. The settlement rule ties the win to the bonus active when the bet was made. If that original bonus has already been completed, the winnings go to the real account. For a deferred round, winnings are credited to the same bonus only while that bonus remains valid. Cancelling that original bonus cancels those winnings.
For instance, if the real balance cannot cover the whole next stake, treating that stake as “my own money” would miss the mixed-funding rule. Before interpreting a win or a withdrawal amount, check the source of the stake and the state of the original bonus when the round settles. This is Booi's model; do not assume another casino uses the same order or split.
Playthrough: the multiplier needs a base
“25x” on its own is not a complete calculation. You need the base amount, the required credited turnover, and the rules for counting eligible stakes towards it.
Booi's general policy uses the coefficient multiplied by the bonus plus the qualifying deposit, unless the specific bonus terms say otherwise. Its rule for free-spin gifts and no-deposit bonuses uses the bonus amount alone, without adding a deposit. Wagering takes place in the currency in which the bonus was awarded. Game contribution can differ, so the relevant game's contribution rule also belongs in the calculation.
For Booi's general no-deposit rule
Required credited turnover = the promotion's coefficient × its bonus amount.
This defines the base. It does not supply the coefficient or credit amount for an unnamed promotion. Specific offer rules still decide those values and can override the general policy.
Progress towards the target
A game's contribution determines how much eligible play counts. At a hypothetical 50% contribution, a stake of 2 units contributes 1 unit towards the target, provided no other restriction changes the credit. The uncounted part is not refunded: contribution measures progress, not the cost of a bet.
Booi's printed $20 rule is a third limit
Booi's general rule 9.2 limits the amount counted towards bonus wagering from an individual bet to the printed $20, even where the stake exceeds that value, unless specific promotion rules replace the restriction. The clause says the restriction does not apply to bets or winnings.
That makes it a ceiling on credited progress per bet, not a maximum permitted stake and not a cashout ceiling. The clause prints a dollar sign without identifying an ISO currency; do not assume it defines a US-dollar allowance for every account currency. Check the actual promotion and active currency before using that number.
A worked example: turnover is not the payout
The following is an invented example to explain the arithmetic, not a casino offer. Every amount uses the same unspecified unit. Assume a 12-unit no-deposit credit, a bonus-only 25x requirement, an eligible game contributing 50%, and no further per-bet reduction. Separately, assume the promotion limits conversion to 30 units.
First calculate the target
12 × 25 = 300 units of required credited turnover.
At 50% contribution, 300 ÷ 0.50 = 600 units of eligible stakes would supply that progress, if the balance lasts long enough and every stake meets the assumed rules. This is cumulative betting turnover, not a requirement to deposit 600 units or a prediction that 600 units will be lost.
Then look at the balance left
42 units remaining → 30 units converted; 12 units removed under the assumed ceiling.
18 units remaining → 18 units converted. A 30-unit ceiling does not top the balance up to 30.
Both outcomes assume all conditions have been completed and the stated conversion model applies. A depleted balance may never reach the target. Neither the starting credit, the turnover target nor the ceiling guarantees a withdrawal.
Booi's published conversion rule illustrates the distinction: once wagering conditions are fulfilled, the remaining bonus balance transfers to real funds within the promotion's conversion restrictions, and any excess above the applicable limit is written off. The limit belongs to the actual promotion; no universal cap follows from that general rule.
Pending, active, wagered or cancelled?
If you can see a reward but cannot use or withdraw it, its state may explain the difference. Booi publishes four bonus states, with an activation queue behind them.
- Pending
- awarded but not yet being used. Booi allows only one active bonus at a time, and the currency tied to the bonus must be active before that bonus can become active.
- Active
- currently being used, with wagering not yet completed. Booi normally determines the first active bonus by its award date and time. After an active bonus is cancelled or wagered, the next pending bonus activates automatically under that sequence.
- Wagered
- its wagering conditions have been fulfilled. The linked balance is then subject to transfer to real funds and the promotion's conversion rules; it is not a promise that the balance equals the original award.
- Cancelled
- cancelled by the operator or player, on expiry, or on withdrawal under the rules. This is a different state from pending.
Choosing to stop bonus wagering at Booi
Booi allows you to refuse further bonus wagering by contacting Support. Rule 8.14 says this player-initiated cancellation entails the loss of all bonus funds. Consider that loss before choosing to stop.
Withdrawing real funds can affect bonuses
Booi's rule 8.15 says bonuses awarded in the currency being withdrawn are cancelled. Rule 8.16 also warns that withdrawing real funds moves active and pending bonuses to cancelled status. Read both before requesting a withdrawal; do not rely on an assumption that another bonus will survive because it is pending or tied to another currency.
MetaWin's claim process is a separate issue. A reward requiring an Inventory claim can have its own claim deadline. That is not Booi's active-bonus queue, and a claim window is not automatically the period allowed for wagering. Read the clock attached to the specific action.
Prize Funds and free spins answer different questions
A reward can be valuable for its stated use without being a money-denominated chip. Two distinctions prevent misleading comparisons.
Competition credit after a deposit
MetaWin's 30% Prize Funds accrue from a deposit and are used for competition entries. Seeing that balance does not make it spendable casino cash. The zero-real-balance condition covers all currencies, and the open-casino-round and open-sports-bet conditions still matter.

Free spins award a number of game rounds, rather than a cash chip of a stated size. You cannot multiply a spin count by a wagering coefficient and call the result money turnover. First establish the winnings generated by the spins and the specific offer's wagering base.

Read a chip's terms in the order that changes your decision
Start by identifying the exact reward, not by choosing the largest displayed number. A credit amount without a defined balance type or conversion route is not enough to estimate what can become real funds.
- Confirm the credit and the trigger. Does the promotion award money-denominated bonus credit without a deposit, require a deposit, grant spins, or create competition entries? Match the advertised amount to the actual balance and currency. Check that the offer applies to your account and location before claiming.
